Hernia Support for Ostomates
A hernia (an abnormal protrusion of an organ or part through the wall of its cavity, beyond its normal confines) may occur after ostomy surgery due to a weakness in the abdominal wall. For patients who cannot undergo surgery to repair the hernia, support belts offer an excellent alternative. Available in different widths, these support belts have various hole openings to accommodate the stoma, and usually feature a Velcro closure.
